The Wildfire Edge is a technical approach shoe that can be adapted to walking and climbing. Designed with the help of mountain guides and the best climbers in the Dolomites, Salewa's Switchfit system is as simple as it is clever. Simply tighten the laces at the back eyelet and fasten them. This pushes your foot forward to the toe box, compressing your toes similar to climbing shoes. Once you've finished climbing, loosen the laces at the back eyelet to create more room in the toe box and walk comfortably. For greater climbing precision, the Wildfire Edge's sole also features an Edging Plate just below the toe box for extra directional firmness. The rest of the sole remains flexible to ensure comfort and natural movement. It features the new Pomoca Speed MTN outsole, which, thanks to the Pomoca Butylic compound, offers increased grip and friction in dry and wet conditions. The outsole features a precision climbing zone at the toe, providing excellent ridge performance and aggressive lugs for improved traction on mud and soft terrain. For improved torsional stability, the Exa Shell layer adjusts to the foot along with the 3F System for greater flexibility, fit, and support. The Climbing Lacing system extends to the toe for a more precise fit. The Multi Fit Footbed Plus (MFF+) system offers interchangeable layers so you can adapt it to the specific shape of your foot, which, together with SALEWA's Alpine Fit, guarantees a complete absence of chafing.
