Autumn and winter in San Martino in Badia, at the Tre Croci Pass, and at the Tre Cime di Lavaredo mean experiencing extraordinary days in the mountains, but they require well-trained legs that can sustain the performance, as well as the right technical equipment to move safely and reduce fatigue.
The Ortles Edge Mid is the functional, lightweight, robust, and versatile solution for technical mountaineering, offering a precise fit and good support for confident movement on all types of terrain. Every detail and technological solution is designed to make the boot extremely versatile and allow the wearer to walk precisely without sacrificing comfort. Lightness and robustness go hand in hand for the perfect blend of comfort and durability, functionality and protection.
The abrasion-resistant Schoeller® nylon upper is reinforced with TPU inserts and a rubber rand for added protection from rocks and scree. Our patented SALEWA® 3F system, reinforced with Kevlar straps, provides maximum heel and ankle stability and allows for perfect volume adjustment. The laminated GORE-TEX® Performance Comfort membrane ensures comfort and protection from the elements, such as heavy rain and snow.
Ground contact is guaranteed by the high-performance Pomoca™ Alpine Dynamic sole, designed for maximum grip and perfect traction on mixed terrain of rock, snow, and ice. The sole package is also compatible with the use of crampons. The tread also features a climbing zone at the toe to improve grip when climbing, while the unique "S"-shaped lug arrangement follows the natural movement of the foot, reducing muscle fatigue.
The dual-density EVA midsole offers good cushioning on both flat and steep terrain, while the customizable Multi Fit Plus (MFF+) footbed allows you to further adjust the volume for a tighter or wider fit. On intense days in the mountains, when you have to tackle long descents, the integrated shock-absorbing zones reduce stress on the knees and ankles. The Ankle Protection System (APS) delivers on its promise: the thermoformed heel offers extra lateral ankle support, especially when descending.
