Adaptable for walking and climbing
The Wildfire Edge is a technical approach shoe that can be adapted for walking and climbing. Designed with the help of mountain guides and professional climbers in the Dolomites, Salewa's Switchfit system is as simple as it is clever. Simply lace and tighten the lace through the additional eyelet for a secure fit. This pushes your foot forward to the toe box, compressing your toes similar to climbing shoes, for improved ridge performance and greater security on technical terrain. To walk in these, loosen the laces to create more room in the toe box and walk comfortably.
GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort
Inside the highly abrasion-resistant microfiber and suede upper is a thin, ultra-breathable GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort membrane that offers maximum comfort in a wide variety of climates and protection from rain and moisture. It keeps feet dry and allows sweat to pass through.
Precision while climbing
For greater climbing precision, the Wildfire Edge's insole also features an Edging Plate just below the toe box for additional directional support. The rest of the sole remains flexible for comfort and natural movement.
Adhesive friction
The Pomoca Speed MTN outsole is made with a grippy rubber compound for increased friction on rocks and smooth surfaces. The outsole features aggressive lugs for improved traction on mud and soft terrain. The design has been engineered to provide effective grip on wet and dry terrain.
Alpine Fit
To improve torsional stability, the Exa Shell protects and encases the foot to prevent slipping inside. The 3F System wraps around the foot to ensure a snug fit, support, and flexibility. The Climbing Lacing system extends to the toe for a more precise fit. The Multi Fit Footbed Plus (MFF+) system offers interchangeable layers so you can adapt it to your specific foot shape, which, together with Salewa's Alpine Fit, guarantees a complete absence of chafing.
