Our MTN Trainer 2, designed in Montebelluna, the birthplace of alpine footwear, is a durable, versatile, low-top alpine approach shoe with a 1.6-millimeter high-quality suede upper and a Vibram outsole. The durable upper has a full protective rubber reinforcement for 360° abrasion resistance on rocky and rough terrain, plus a quick-drying GORE-TEX® Extended Comfort lining for increased waterproofing and breathability. It features a protective elastic gaiter under the laces to keep out rain and puddles. The improved construction is 15% lighter and more flexible than the original and ensures a comfortable fit, while the enlarged PU midsole offers great cushioning and rebound. The multifunctional Vibram outsole provides agility and stability on difficult terrain. Deep, self-cleaning grooves and aggressive lugs ensure good grip on rock and scree, and optimal traction on grass and mud. Below the midfoot, a via ferrata-specific zone features right-angled lugs that leverage the force applied to the foot for better grip on iron bars than conventional footwear. Our signature 3F system connects the instep to the sole and heel to ensure flexibility, a proper fit, and optimal support. An OrthoLite cushioning insole wicks away moisture, helping to keep your foot cool. The Climbing Lacing System can also be adapted to the toe box for greater precision and support on technical terrain. The MTN Trainer 2 is made in Europe and offers a perfect alpine approach solution for technical routes, via ferratas, and treks, regardless of the terrain or conditions.
